Technology

Pulsar takes recent advances in the understanding of human physiology and applies control systems engineering and sensing technology to develop innovative solutions to help humans respond better to their environment. Together with our research partners, we are developing the core technology for a variety of products.

Cognitive capability assessment

Our computer-based tests of cognitive performance target the biological basis of human capability. Each test incorporates state of the art patented technology and is specifically designed to measure a different aspect of cognitive function such as attention, working memory, speed of cognition, etc. These tests are used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Fortune 500 companies and university laboratories in operational, research, and clinical trial settings.

Non-invasive behavioral state assessment

Wearable noninvasive sensors to monitor activity and behavioral states provide important information in operational environments that require high levels of sustained physical or cognitive performance and when the cost of fatigue related human error is high. These technologies are in the final stages of development for deployment in space exploration missions, transportation networks, mining operations, etc.

Tools to predict cognitive performance and optimize shift schedules

We have developed innovative computational techniques, which are integrated with essential information to deliver model based cognitive performance prediction and schedule optimization. These tools are used to plan space exploration missions, develop cost effective transportation schedules, or construct safety-oriented shift schedules that minimize costly accidents and worker absenteeism.
